Potent and selective group II mGlu receptor antagonist (IC50 values are 21 and 14nM for mGlu2 and mGlu3 receptors respectively). Exhibits 10-fold selectivity for mGlu2 receptor. Less effective on other mGlu receptors (IC50 values are 22, 8.2, 0.99 and 0.17µM for mGlu1a, 4, 5a, 7 and 8 receptors respectively. Also a relatively potent group III antagonist. Shows low effectiveness on NMDA receptors. Blood-brain barrier permeable. Displays anti-depressant effects.
