Neuroactive steroid; enhances [3H]flunitrazepam binding (EC50 = 125 nM). Decreases ethanol consumption in addiction models and shows actions against Multiple Sclerosis. Shows sedative, anxiolytic and anticonvulsant effects. Blood-brain barrier permeable.
