Biological description

Selective TRPC6 channel activator which inhibits neurotransmitter re-uptake inhibitor (GABA, glutamate, glycine, serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine).

Also modulates acetylcholine release and antagonizes NMDA, AMPA and GABA receptors.

Additionally acts as a pregnane X receptor (PXR) activator to induce cytochrome P45 eynzmes CYP3A4 and CYP2C9 and also a potent SIRT1 (sirtuin 1) and SIRT2 (sirtuin 2) inhibitor.

Shows a variety of biological actions including antibacterial, anti-depressant and anxiolytic effects.
